I believe that everyone holds a desire to know Divine radiance within their heart, and everyone is deserving of experiencing the profoundness of the sacred.
SACRED RITUAL CAN HEAL THIS CRAVING FOR COMMUNION WITH THE DIVINEJames Roose-Evans writes in his book Passages of the Soul, that through sacred ritual and ceremony, people “grow in an understanding of life and art. [They are drawn here] because there is in them a hunger for something that they cannot find elsewhere.” Carl Rogers is quoted, adding that people “hunger for relationships which are close and real; in which feelings and emotions can be spontaneously expressed without first being carefully censored or bottled up; where deep experiences - disappointments and joys - can be shared; where new ways of behaving can be risked and tried out; where an individual approaches the state where all is known and accepted; and thus further growth becomes possible.”
SACRED RITUAL IS A FORM OF REVERENT, LIVING ARTSacred ritual is a form of reverent, living, breathing art. Through sound, music, movement, visuals, words and your own imagination, you can be transported out of the everyday and into the realm of Spirit, bridging your humanness and your divinity, your inner and outer worlds. My intention in co-creating these experiences with you is to evoke surrender as it manifests from your response to these soulful creations and their silent reverberations in your soul.
RITUALS SUPPORT THE CHANGES IN OUR LIVESRituals have long served as a means for individuals to acknowledge the rites of passage from one stage of life to another, such as when a girl becomes a woman, or a couple creates a new union through marriage. We also experience transitions in the inevitability of sudden and unpredictable change; when we lose a job, become ill, move our home, or suddenly lose a loved one. Whether expected or not, our initiations move through a natural cycle of recreating self; there is a death of the old to make way for the new; a letting go of who we have been to freely invite the blossoming of who we are to become. At all these times, we have an opportunity to intentionally awaken our hearts and honour the wholiness of our lives – our body, mind, emotions and spirit. In her book Everyday Grace, Marianne Williamson writes, ”It’s when we are most feeling and vulnerably alive that our hearts cry out for an added dimension of soulfulness. It is when we are deeply touched by life that we most want to feel God’s touch upon us.”
THERE ARE MANY OCCASIONS FOR NOURISHING YOUR ESSENCE THROUGH SACRED RITUALYou may wish to deepen the significance of any celebratory milestone such as a birthday, anniversary or any joyful event in your journey, and turn the ordinary into a memorable occasion.
- Anytime you are in the process of a personal transition, such as letting go of a relationship, or redefining your work, a sacred ceremony can expedite your conscious choice in your transformation. Here, a therapeutic component can make a pronounced energetic shift.
- And when you wish to affirm an aspect of your authentic living, such as inviting abundance, sacred ritual can help you to make the commitment to your Divinity and pull the metaphysical into the physical realm.
- At all these times, when your soul is most open, sacred ritual can add meaning and re-create the spiritual intimacy you desire.
