In short, the greatest difference between life coaching and transformational/spiritual psychotherapy is that coaching begins with your present state and focuses on how to help you move into an envisioned future. Sometimes however you may have persistent blocks that keep you from moving forward. In this case, psychotherapy is very helpful. Spiritual Psychotherapy delves into your past to uncover the root causes to your obstacles. Helping you to connect with your emotions to release old energies is critical.
In the models I follow, both life coaching and spiritual psychotherapy are a designed collaboration between the client and the guide. The focus is on your needs and wants, and your sense of fulfillment and balance in life serves as the foundation for exploration.
You lead the way. In fact, you own the process and self manage.
My role is to help you achieve greater clarity. In both coaching and psychotherapy, inquiry is the key tool. I listen, asks powerful questions from a place of curiosity, help you to keep commitments to yourself, and support and encourage.
In spiritual psychotherapy the style of work is not limited to talk therapy, but engages your non-ordinary states of consciousness and utilizes a broad range of tools and techniques:
theta healing, journaling, creative visualization, ritual, creative art forms, sound, experiential processes, inner child work, dreams, energy work/
psychosomatic focusing, meditation, divination tools and past life regression to name a few.
While you may have specific intentions and results you wish to achieve, the process itself is considered to be significant in deepening the learning and creating movement. The journey is just as important as the destination.
