PEACE PRAYER CIRCLE

Virtual gathering

In honour of THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE
I ask you to kindly give of your time and loving energy to join in
group prayer and meditation.

This is not a physical gathering but an energetic gathering
and certainly equally powerful.

While I'm sure you each find your own way to celebrate peace,
this is another opportunity to unite as one heart and one mind
and raise the vibration on our great Earth.

All that is required of you is to be still wherever you are, open your heart,
and send your love freely and generously around the world.

If you can hold the intention of peace for 30 minutes please do so, however any participation is welcome.
As we do so collectively, we send a wave of healing around the world.

IMAGINE peace, BELIEVE peace, FEEL peace
BE PEACE

Let There be Peace on Earth

Let there be peace on earth,
and let it begin with me.
Let there be peace on earth,
the peace that was meant to be.
With God ever-present, we can all be free.
Let us walk with each other in perfect harmony.
Let peace begin with me.
Let this be the moment now.
With every step I take,
let this be my solemn vow.
To take each moment and live each moment in peace eternally.
Let there be peace on earth,
and let it begin with me.

Words and music by Jill Jackson and Sy Miller circa 1955

Praying Peace

My Spirit,
I have a prayer in my heart
that I know others will understand.
I see nations with borders
that are thresholds to new wonders,
rather than fences of self-preservation.
Hundreds of hands shake daily in a trusting welcome
instead of fear and might.
Joyful rituals are the
play of the children in the parks,
and games that fire and attack
never assault their imagination.
I see only one weapon,
and that would be truth.

In my dream, the value of differences
would have more currency than any money,
and the use of power would be reserved for
the miracles we know we can make happen.
We would all see with a grateful spirit,
and listen to one another as though each silence broken
was a sage offering promise.
We would finally surrender to love
having lived enough battles with each other.

My mind can think it,
my tears tell me I already know it.
I'll keep praying this peace
until there is nothing more real than this.

This simple exercise may help you to open your heart:
1. Sit quietly with your eyes closed and your body relaxed.
2. Bring your focus to your heart.
3. Think of someone for whom you are genuinely grateful (a family member, friend or pet)
4. Let the feeling of your love for this being expand in your heart.
5. Breathe this energy in and out through your heart and direct it to this loved one.
6. Expand this feeling of love by visualizing it move through your entire body and around it.
7. Expand this love more and more, sending it out to all all beings and the planet.
