VOICES OF GRATITUDE

a circle of voices
lifted in gratitude
embracing Spirit

Chanting is the joyful spiritual practice of rhythmically repeating sounds or phrases for personal communion with Spirit.

Your inner child may be more familiar with chants like "one plus one is two, two plus two is four...". The sports fan in you may connect with "Go Sens Go!" Or perhaps you've experienced the resonance of sounding "om" at the end of a yoga class. All are chants because they are repetitive. Often chants have a fairly simply rhythm associated with them as well.

When one tones, combining breath with a single vowel sound for example, the vibration of the sound has healing power, and can be directed with focused thought to a specific area of the body.

When one chants, whether it is sacred words or Sanskrit phrases (ancient Hindu language), the vibration of the blended sounds is said to invoke the deepest spiritual aspect of what is being spoken of in the chants. Here it is possible to let go of the mind, open the heart and achieve a higher state of consciousness.

Whether chanting is a part of your spiritual practice or not, this evening is an opportunity to simply use your voice,
blend it in harmony with others and create beautiful sound.

The vibration of sound is healing and creating
sound energy as a group is powerful!
